Boat2Bag was founded by Elmo Francis from a simple idea: waste should not be the end of a story.

Every summer, damaged PVC boats used along the Aare River are discarded and treated as waste. At Boat2Bag, we saw something different strong materials, untold stories, and an opportunity to create positive change.

Based in Muri near Bern, Boat2Bag transforms discarded boats and other hard-to-recycle materials into high-quality bags and accessories with purpose and character. Every product carries a story of renewal, craftsmanship, and sustainability.

But our mission goes beyond products. We aim to inspire a shift in thinking from throwaway culture to circular creativity. Through workshops, education, and collaborations with schools, universities, communities, and local partners, we promote environmental awareness, social inclusion, and innovative sustainable design.
